Skip the dozen red roses
A dozen red roses is the most ordered arrangement of the year, which is exactly why it says the least. If you want to be understood, pick what the person actually likes.
A single rose with a note about a specific year beats twelve with a card. If the relationship is newer, a tulip or a camellia says the same thing without overcommitting.
- Long relationship: one rose + a peony, and a note about a real week
- New relationship: a tulip with one camellia
- Friendship with a card attached: a daisy and a cherry blossom
- Something quieter: a single camellia
Write something only you could write
The test is simple: if the note could be sent to anyone, it is not a Valentine’s note. Name a specific evening, a specific habit, a specific thing they said that you still think about.
It does not have to be romantic in the conventional sense. “You make the ordinary version of the week better” lands harder than anything about souls or destiny.
If you are apart on the day
A link arrives at 00:01 in their time zone if that is when you send it. There is no courier involved and no border to cross, which makes it the one bouquet that works across an ocean on the day itself.
